Since 80% of stokes are preventable we want to know what we can do. High blood pressure or hypertension is the leading cause of stroke and the most important one to control. so we must know our numbers and keep them low.120/80 is normal.
Diabetes control your blood sugar

Take medication
After my stroke I decided that I would take charge of my health. I was seeing my doctor every3 months and that was when I was getting my blood pressure taken. Some time I would take it at CVS drug store. That is not being in charge of your health. I brought a blood pressure monitor machine. I take my blood pressure daily, I walk 30 minutes a day and I cook my own meals so that I can control my sodium intake and I take my medication. Take charge, be safe and let us live long happy lives. Until next time.
